7 Best Cherry Perfumes of 2024 for Every Scent Profile (Tested and Reviewed)

Welcome to my review of the 7 best cherry perfumes!

As the weather cools, I find myself drawn to the dark sweetness of cherry fragrances. Cherry in fragrances is very versatile, ranging from syrupy sweet to tart and sour. It pairs well with a range of notes, from almond and warm spices to vibrant floral notes.

7 Best Cherry Perfumes of 2024 for Every Scent Profile (Tested and Reviewed)

I have personally tested a variety of cherry fragrances to bring you the best cherry perfumes, including the ever-popular Tom Ford Lost Cherry.

Cherry notes can smell vastly different depending on what they're blended with, so while some cherry perfumes are fresh and floral, others are more woody and spicy. This chameleon-like quality is precisely why cherry scents are predicted to be one of the next big fragrance trends of 2024.

Read on for my reviews of the 11 best cherry perfumes!

7 Best Cherry Perfumes

1: Tom Ford Lost Cherry

1: Tom Ford Lost Cherry

  • Scent Profile: Sweet, Fruity, Almond
  • Longevity: Average, 5 – 7 hours
  • Season: Fall and winter
  • Cost ($ – $$$): $$$
  • Released: 2018
Tom Ford Lost Cherry is the best cherry perfume overall, hugely popular as a fan-favorite cherry fragrance that many have attempted to replicate. It is a boozy, syrupy-sweet cherry almond fragrance.

Lost Cherry opens with the scent of sweet, syrupy, candied maraschino cherries. The cherry liqueur and bitter almond notes are strong, giving me nostalgic vibes of almond cherry Christmas desserts and cherry liqueur chocolates.

From the opening throughout the dry down, there is also a depth to the fragrance, with the spicy and woody base notes present, balancing the sweetness. The dark cherry almond sweetness remains present throughout the dry down.

Lost Cherry has an average longevity of 5 – 7 hours, with a moderate projection for the first hour or two. This is a versatile fragrance, as it isn’t overpowering. Lost Cherry works well for daily wear during the fall and winter as well as nights out.

  • Top Notes: Bitter Almond, Black Cherry, Cherry Liqueur
  • Middle Notes: Sour Cherry, Plum, Turkish Rose, Jasmine Sambac
  • Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Peru Balsam, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Cloves, Cedar, Patchouli, Vetiver

Pros

  • Beautiful, deeply sweet cherry almond scent
  • Great choice for fall and winter
  • Versatile

Cons

  • Some find the opening too synthetic
  • Expensive

2: Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry

2: Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry

  • Scent Profile: Sweet, Fruity, Woody
  • Longevity: Average, 5 – 7 hours
  • Season: Fall and winter
  • Cost ($ – $$$): $$
  • Released: 2022

Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry has an opening that reminds me a lot of Tom Ford Lost Cherry. Although there is no almond note listed in Lovefest Burning Cherry, the opening is very similar to the warm, sweet, vibrant almond cherry opening of Lost Cherry.

As Lovefest Burning Cherry dries down, the woody notes make an appearance, and I get a very smooth, sweet, and creamy almond cherry.

Lovefest Burning Cherry is an easy to wear, versatile cherry fragrance. The woody notes are not deep and dark, instead, they bring a very smooth creaminess to the sweet cherry note.

I wear this one as an everyday fragrance during the fall and winter, and also on cooler summer and spring days when I want a fragrance with a bit of fruity depth.

The longevity is similar to most fruity fragrances. I get about 5 – 7 hours of longevity, though it does gradually turn into a subtle skin scent. The projection is decent for the first hour or two.

  • Top Notes: Burning Cherry, Raspberry, Bergamot
  • Middle Notes: Praline, Heliotrope, Damask Rose, Jasmine Sambac
  • Base Notes: Palo Santo, Tonka Bean, Guaiac Wood, Ambrettolide, Peru Balsam, Patchouli, Haitian Vetiver

Pros

  • Decent alternative to Tom Ford Lost Cherry
  • Versatile
  • Sweet cherry and creamy almond/woody scent

Cons

  • Some report poor longevity

3: The 7 Virtues Cherry Ambition

The 7 Virtues Cherry Ambition

  • Scent Profile: Sweet, Fruity, Spicy
  • Longevity: Average, 6 – 8 hours
  • Season: Fall and winter
  • Cost ($ – $$$): $$
  • Released: 2023

The 7 Virtues Cherry Ambition is worth a smell for anyone who enjoys darker, spicy, woody notes in their fruity fragrances. Cherry Ambition also opens with a vibe similar to Tom Ford Lost Cherry, but with all of the darker, woody, spiciness, and none of the almond.

Don’t expect a fluffy, ultra sweet cherry fragrance based on the marshmallow note. Cherry Ambition is a darker take on cherry, with the saffron, spices, and woods shining through right from the opening.

If you enjoy the spicy depth of Tom Ford Lost Cherry, you will likely enjoy Cherry Ambition, as the spices and wood are amplified here, alongside the darkly sweet cherry note.

Cherry Ambition has better longevity than many cherry fragrances. I have found that it lasts all day if I spray it in the morning, although it does become subtle as the day progresses. It is quite a strong projector at first, but it quiets down within an hour. I would consider Cherry Ambition to be quite versatile. It is on the darker and louder side, but it isn’t a beast mode fragrance by any means.
  • Top Notes: Cherry, Pink Pepper, Marshmallow, Mandarin Orange
  • Middle Notes: Saffron, Cherry Blossom, Orris, Osmanthus
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, Frankincense, Amber, Musk, Guaiac Wood

Pros

  • Spicy, woody alternative to Tom Ford Lost Cherry
  • On the lower end of the niche fragrance price spectrum
  • Better longevity compared to many cherry fragrances

Cons

  • Not gourmand, the marshmallow note is deceiving

4: Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl Glam

Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl Glam

  • Scent Profile: Sweet, Fruity, Floral
  • Longevity: Average, 5 – 6 hours
  • Season: Fall, winter, spring, summer
  • Cost ($ – $$$): $$
  • Released: 2022

Caroline Herrera Very Good Girl Glam is a sweet, fruity, floral cherry fragrance. Very Good Girl Glam retains the Good Girl DNA and adds a touch of cherry and almond.

The rose note is present enough to make this a fruity floral scent, but not strong enough to be a noticeable “rose” fragrance. Very Good Girl Glam is a good choice if you enjoy the typical designer fruity floral type of fragrance and want some cherry added.

Very Good Girl Glam is versatile for year round wear and any occasion. It has decent projection for the first hour or two, and average longevity of 5 – 6 hours.
  • Top Notes: Sour Cherry, Bitter Almond
  • Middle Notes: Rose, Ambrette Seeds
  • Base Notes: Rose, Ambrette Seeds, Tonka Bean

Pros

  • Cherry twist of the popular Good Girl perfume
  • Versatile

Cons

  • Some find the floral rose note too strong

5: Guess Seductive Red

Guess Seductive Red

  • Scent Profile: Sweet, Fruity, Floral
  • Longevity: Average, 5 – 6 hours
  • Season: Fall, winter, spring, summer
  • Cost ($ – $$$): $
  • Released: 2021

Guess Seductive Red is the best cherry perfume with a very affordable price. It smells much more expensive than it is. To me, it is a cherry almond version of Baccarat Rouge 540 or Ariana Grande Cloud.

Seductive Red is a sweet and light fragrance, opening with light cherry and almond notes. The vanilla, floral, and sandalwood notes give it an airy quality, similar to Baccarat Rouge 540 and Ariana Grande Cloud. I find this to be a fairly linear fragrance, what you smell in the opening is what you continue to smell throughout the drydown.

Seductive Red is a very easy to wear fragrance all year round. It has decent projection for the first hour or two, and average longevity of 5 – 6 hours. As a light, sweet, fairly subtle fragrance, Seductive Red is appropriate for pretty much any occasion, and also great for layering.

  • Top Notes: Cherry, Almond, Pink Pepper
  • Middle Notes: Cherry Blossom, Violet, Magnolia
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood

Pros

  • Budget-friendly
  • Versatile
  • Has similarities to Baccarat Rouge 540 and Ariana Grande Cloud

Cons

  • Some report poor longevity

6: BDK Parfums Rouge Smoking

BDK Parfums Rouge Smoking

  • Scent Profile: Sweet, Fruity, Gourmand
  • Longevity: Average, 5 – 6 hours
  • Season: Fall, winter
  • Cost ($ – $$$): $$
  • Released: 2018

BDK Parfums Rouge Smoking is a syrupy sweet, vanilla cherry cola fragrance. This is my personal favorite on this list.

Rouge Smoking opens with a rich, syrupy sweetness mixed with a subtle spiciness, bringing to mind cherry cola, root beer, Dr. Pepper vibes.

As Rouge Smoking dries down, the powdery floral notes become faintly noticeable, but the sweet and slightly spicy cherry vanilla remains present and strong.

Further in the dry down, Rouge Smoking maintains its sweet cherry cola vibe, with the smooth, powdery, musky vanilla becoming more present as well.

Rouge Smoking is a great choice for evenings out in the fall and winter, or daily wear in the cooler seasons as well. It isn’t an overpowering fragrance, so it is a safe choice for all occasions. I get an average longevity of 5 – 6 hours with moderate projection for the first hour or two.

If you enjoy sweet gourmands, this one is worth a smell!

  • Top Notes: Cherry, Pink Pepper, Bergamot
  • Middle Notes: Black Vanilla Husk, Heliotrope, Orange Blossom
  • Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Cashmere Wood, White Musk, Ambroxan, Labdanum, Violet

Pros

  • Sweet cherry cola scent
  • Versatile, but also great choice for fall and winter evenings out

Cons

  • Name is deceiving, this isn’t a smoky fragrance
  • On the higher end of the price range compared to the designer fragrances

7: Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire

  • Scent Profile: Sweet, Fruity, Floral, Spicy
  • Longevity: Above average, 8+ hours
  • Season: Fall, winter
  • Cost ($ – $$$): $$
  • Released: 2012

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum is a unique and long-lasting cherry perfume, with its combination of sour cherry, sweet berry, and almond notes and spicy notes of tea, licorice, and anise. It is long-lasting and complex, with the notes slowly unfolding over the course of the day.

In the opening, I find the sour cherry and sweet red berry notes to be the most noticeable, with some slight almond present, and a unique freshness coming from the tea.

As La Petite Robe Noire dries down, the spicy notes of licorice and anise begin to meld with the sweet fruity, cherry vanilla. The tea brings a fresh, almost clean quality, and the rose and iris begin to make an appearance as well.

Finally, La Petite Robe Noire settles into a powdery, sweet, spicy, cherry vanilla. This is a fragrance that I would recommend testing before buying (more so than most), as it is a unique combination of notes and on the stronger side.

La Petite Robe Noire has above average longevity, easily lasting all day, with moderate projection for a good 4 hours. This is another good choice for evenings out during the cooler months, while still being versatile enough for everyday wear.

  • Top Notes: Sour Cherry, Almond, Red Berries, Bergamot
  • Middle Notes: Licorice, Rose, Tea, Taif Rose
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, Anise, Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Iris

Pros

  • Complex fragrance
  • Above average longevity and strong projection
  • On the lower end of the price spectrum for designer fragrances

Cons

  • Some find the cherry and licorice opening medicinal
